Some of you have been transitioned out of your jobs and others have openings or know of companies which have job opportunities. It seems to me that the church should help each other as best as we can. So, here is a place where you can exchange information and perhaps find a new job or employee. Of course, we should pray for each other as we learn about needs.

What's So Special About Christianity?

So "Why-Fi" is finally kicking off this weekend.  Thanks so much to all of you who are helping shape this thing by submitting your questions.  We've been really blown away by your candor and vulnerability, and it's been encouraging to know that the issues we're going to be talking about are gut-level and real.  Don't forget to bring your cell phones to church Sunday so you can participate in the message in real time.

Speaking of this Sunday - the first question we're going to be talking about this weekend is "What Makes Christianity Different Thank Any Other Belief System?"  We live in a world where there are all sorts of ways to believe, all sorts of different ideas you give your life to.  In a post-911 world some of those belief systems can even be a little scary.  So what's so special about Christianity?

So let's talk about it now.  You don't need to answer the question (in fact it's better if you don't), just talk about your experiences and struggles with the different ways people believe.  Chick the "Comments" link below to join the conversation . . .

shaking the foundations

This weekend we're kicking off a new series entitled "Shaking the Foundations", and we're all really excited about what God's going to do through this series.  So many great things are happening at River Valley right now, and this series is going to present a great opportunity for building community and vision.  "Shaking the Foundations" is all about stripping away a lot of the junk we accumulate along the way in life and making sure who we are is based on who God designed us to be. 

As a part of this series, all of our small groups will be studying from the same passages as a way to help us all share the journey together.  If you're not currently a part of a small group at River Valley stop by the Information Center before or after the service this Sunday to find out more about how you can be a part of the adventure.
